A pre-trial investigation has been launched. The police department of the East Kazakhstan region stated that a set of investigative and operational search activities is being carried out.
"Based on the results, a procedural decision will be made. The identity of the deceased, as well as the causes and circumstances of death, are being established," the department said.
After the incident, rumors spread in the city about the alleged discovery of several bodies. However, police said this information is false and urged citizens to rely only on official data.
