New opportunity for debtors: Ministry of Justice to restrict private bailiffs

In Kazakhstan, bank accounts of citizens will no longer be fully blocked due to debts, reports Todayinfo.kz citing the LS portal link. According to Vice Minister of Justice Bekbolat Moldabekov, there were many complaints about full blocking of citizens' bank accounts.

"If a citizen, for example, had a debt for a fine, the bank would block his entire account. Now this system is being improved. A private bailiff will impose a restriction only on the amount of debt. The account will not be fully blocked. Currently, this mechanism is being implemented jointly with banks," said the Vice Minister.
