Kazakhstan has achieved significant benefits for cargo aviation. The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has decided to abolish customs duties and taxes on the import of cargo aircraft for 12 years, reports Todayinfo news agency.
According to the government's press service, current duties on such aircraft are 7.5% and 12.5%. The country is expected to need 130 cargo aircraft in the coming years.
The EEC also approved the elimination of duties on the import of LED modules for several countries, including Kazakhstan. The measure is aimed at developing production within the EAEU.
In addition, the parties agreed to introduce mandatory labeling for a number of goods — construction materials, paints and varnishes, some toys, and beverages (tea, coffee, cocoa, etc.). Each country will determine the timing and procedure for implementation independently.
Rules for determining the country of origin of goods for public procurement have also been amended. This should simplify access for EAEU producers to the procurement market. Specifically, requirements for the production of fiber optic cable have been clarified, and the list of goods that can confirm origin with a CT-1 certificate has been expanded. It now includes, for example, ropes made of synthetic fibers and X-ray inspection systems.
These measures are expected to help producers enter the Eurasian Register of Industrial Products and expand access to the markets of EAEU countries.
