Famous poet passes away

Famous Kazakh poet, member of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan Serikbai Abilmazhin has passed away, reports Todayinfo.kz. The sad news was published by the press service of the Writers' Union. According to the source, the poet died at the age of 42.

"Serikbai Abilmazhin was born in 1984 in the Altai region of the People's Republic of China. In 2008, he graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In 2015, he completed a master's degree in philology at Kokshetau State University named after Sh. Ualikhanov. He worked as a teacher in schools of Burabay district, director of the Burabay district centralized library system, and editor of the district newspaper 'Burabay'. His poems were included in the collective collection 'Saryarka samaly' and the ten-volume anthology of Kazakh poetry 'Zhir marzhany'. In 2014, the publishing house 'Khan Tengri' released a collection of poems 'Urkertolgak', and in 2021, the publishing house 'Foliant' released a collection 'Sarsha tamiz'," writes the union's press service.

Members of the Writers' Union expressed condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, as well as to fellow writers.
