Hungary's new Prime Minister Peter Magyar has travelled to Brussels, reports Todayinfo. His main goal is to unlock billions of euros that the European Union froze under former PM Viktor Orban.
With an August deadline looming, Magyar is pushing to pass key reforms before Hungary loses the funds permanently. If the reforms are not implemented in time, the funding could be lost for good.
“We face a serious challenge. We must continue dialogue with the EU and make the necessary changes,” Magyar said ahead of his meetings in Brussels.
This situation marks a critical phase in Hungary's relations with the EU. The blocked funds, a result of the previous government's policies, could significantly impact the country's economy.
