On April 26, a storm warning was issued in many regions of Kazakhstan. Strong winds caused damage to residential buildings, social facilities, and urban infrastructure, reports Todayinfo news agency.
During the day, the wind hit the Karaganda region. According to the akimat, wind gusts reached 23 meters per second. In Karaganda, roofs of three residential buildings were partially torn off, one car was damaged, and trees and large branches fell in various districts.
In the city of Abai, roofs of two five-story buildings were damaged. In the village of Zhuldyz, Osakarov district, about 400 square meters of roofing was torn off the building of school No. 18. In Karkaraly, the roof of a two-story residential building was damaged, and an unused metal chimney fell on the territory of boiler house No. 2.
Strong winds also hit the Pavlodar region. In Ekibastuz, the storm damaged infrastructure: bus stop pavilions were torn off, roofs of buildings and power lines were damaged, and there were power outages.
According to local residents on social media, a dust storm plunged the city into twilight for several minutes, followed by heavy rain in some places.
According to preliminary data, there are no fatalities or injuries.
