Four Indonesian soldiers are on trial for an acid attack on a prominent activist in Jakarta, reports Todayinfo.
Andrie Yunus was partially blinded in last month's incident, which occurred just after he had criticized the military in a podcast.
“This attack is a direct assault on my freedom of speech,” Yunus said in court.
The soldiers' actions highlight tensions between civil society and military institutions in Indonesia. The trial continues next week.
