Israeli forces intercepted around a dozen Gaza-bound aid boats from the Global Sumud Flotilla in international waters near the Greek island of Crete, more than 1,000km from Israel, reports Todayinfo news agency.

The flotilla, consisting of about ten vessels, was attempting to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. Organizers called it an illegal attack on civilians in international waters.

This is a gross violation of international law and an attempt to thwart efforts to save lives, said a flotilla spokesperson.

The incident occurred on April 30, 2026. The Israeli side has not yet provided an official comment. This continues a series of interceptions of ships trying to deliver aid to Gaza.
