Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov commented on the political events of February, which are called an attempted coup in the country. He said the situation was under control from the start. He explained that he monitored the progress of the so-called 'Letter 75' from its appearance to its discussion in parliament.

The 'Letter 75' is an open appeal dated February 9, 2026, demanding immediate new presidential elections. It was signed by 75 people: former officials, politicians and public figures. Some of the signatories later attracted the attention of law enforcement.

Japarov noted that a group of deputies involved in promoting the 'Letter 75' formed in the Jogorku Kenesh. After their plans failed, some of them resigned their mandates. The president stressed that the investigation will make final conclusions and called on deputies to focus on work.

Separately, the president commented on the head of the State Committee for National Security, Kamchybek Tashiev. He said his involvement in the events will be determined by the investigation and the court. Tashiev's brother, deputy Shairbek Tashiev, is in custody on suspicion of corruption at the state enterprise 'Kyrgyzneftegaz', where damage exceeded 4 billion soms. The suspect confessed, Japarov noted.

'For me, there are no concepts of 'friend', 'relative', 'close person' — the interests of the state and the people are always a priority,' the president emphasized. He also denied rumors of Tashiev's involvement in the Kumtor gold mine, calling them false.

In conclusion, Japarov spoke about his visit to Russia, which was his initiative. Key issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed during negotiations with Vladimir Putin. Russia remains a strategic partner of Kyrgyzstan, he summed up.
