Higher education institutions in Kazakhstan will gradually close enrollment for a number of academic programs by 2029 due to an oversupply of graduates in these fields, reports Todayinfo.
This was stated in the response of the Committee for Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education to an inquiry from an inbusiness.kz correspondent.
The ministry reported that the job market is oversaturated with specialists in areas such as jurisprudence, finance, economics, management, marketing, public and local administration, translation, foreign languages, information systems, computer engineering and software, as well as physics.
Authorities intend to reallocate grants from these oversupplied fields to other, more in-demand specialties.
