Kazakhstan is considering increasing scholarships for students studying under the Bolashak program. This was announced by Abay Rakhmet, Deputy Chairman of the Center for International Programs, reports Todayinfo.
According to him, scholarships have not been raised for more than 15 years, despite rising global inflation. In several countries, current amounts are insufficient, especially for scholarship holders studying abroad with their families.
“The issue of increasing scholarships is being worked on, and I think clarity will come by next year. The scholarship amount varies by country and city. For example, in New York it is high – about $2,200. In other states it is lower,” he said.
One option under discussion is budget redistribution. It may involve reducing the number of scholarships and directing freed-up funds to increase payments. A final decision could be made next year.
