Kazakhstan has developed a new bill to simplify the work of teachers. Mazhilis deputies approved in the first reading a bill on the status of teachers, reports Todayinfo news agency.

The document aims to strengthen the rights and status of educators. Now teachers' responsibility will only apply during the educational process. It also plans to ban double reporting in both paper and electronic formats.

“Since 2020, there has been a norm not to involve teachers in work outside their duties. But it mainly concerned school teachers, kindergarten teachers, and college educators. Now we have resolved this issue legislatively: this norm will become common for all teachers in school, secondary, technical, and vocational education,” said deputy Askhat Aimagambetov.

Additionally, the deputy addressed loopholes used by graduates to bypass the UNT. For pedagogical specialties, this loophole will be closed: when transferring from a foreign university, passing the UNT and a special exam will be mandatory.

Parents' responsibility for children's life, health, and safety will be expanded. Unified rules for using mobile phones in schools are also planned to be approved.
