Kyzylorda: Glass factory breaks ground with 60 billion tenge investment
Construction has begun on a new glass container factory in Kyzylorda region, set to produce 240 million units annually. The project attracts 60 billion tenge in investment and will create 500 new jobs.
Today in Kyzylorda, a ceremony was held to lay the capsule for the Seven Rivers glass container factory, attended by regional governor Murat Yergeshbayev, founder of Seven Rivers Anuar Umbetayev, first heads of law enforcement agencies, directors of construction companies, representatives of the intelligentsia, and elders, reports Todayinfo.
This is one of the significant industrial initiatives aimed at developing the glass cluster in the region. The factory will be equipped with world-class German Horn technology and will produce modern and environmentally compliant products.
During the ceremony, the regional governor noted the active implementation of investment projects in the area.
“Last week, I had an audience with the Head of State and presented investment projects. The President gave specific instructions to continue work in this direction.
When Nurlybek Mashbekuly, recently appointed First Deputy Prime Minister, led the region, over 2.3 trillion tenge in investments were attracted to the region's economy. Over the next three years, 48 investment projects totaling 1.9 trillion tenge are planned for implementation, creating more than 10,000 new jobs.
Just last week, we launched the wagon repair and technical maintenance complex of Maral Nur LLP. Today, we laid the capsule for the high-tech factory of the Spanish company Roca Group, which will produce up to 500,000 sanitary-technical products annually.
I am confident that these new production facilities, important for our country and region, will give new impetus to diversifying the economy and improving the quality of life for residents,” said Murat Nalkozhauly.
During the event, regional prosecutor Rizabek Ozharov and Seven Rivers founder Anuar Umbetayev delivered speeches, and state and public figure Bigali Kayupov gave his blessing.
It should be noted that a memorandum on developing cooperation had been signed within the framework of the Kazakh-German Business Forum, agreeing on the construction of a factory to produce 240 million glass containers per year, with an investment of 60 billion tenge. More than 500 new jobs are planned to be created at the enterprise.
A 38-hectare land plot has been allocated for the factory in the Ondiris industrial zone, with all engineering infrastructure provided. The issue of financing is being considered under the Green Development program of the Industrial Development Fund. The project aims to produce competitive products and achieve import substitution by recycling glass waste collected within the country.
Furthermore, the efficient use of high-quality quartz sand, lime, and dolomite reserves in the region will create opportunities for developing new related enterprises around glass production.
The new production facility is expected to contribute to increasing the region's industrial potential, expanding export volumes, and providing stable employment for residents.
