Aidos Ukibay, advisor and press secretary to Nursultan Nazarbayev, commented on media reports and public inquiries regarding the health of Sara Alpysovna Nazarbayeva.
According to his words, since April 2025, Sara Nazarbayeva has been undergoing treatment at the National Hospital of the Medical Center of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty. During this period, she suffered an extensive myocardial infarction. Doctors diagnosed ischemic heart disease, heart and lung failure against the background of long-standing diabetes mellitus, as well as progressive chronic renal failure.
It is reported that she was on artificial lung ventilation and hemodialysis machines for a long time.
In January of this year, after her condition stabilized, Sara Alpysovna was discharged from the hospital. She is currently in Almaty under the supervision of doctors at home.
