During the meeting, the prospects for Kazakhstan's integration with the International Atomic Energy Agency, as well as pressing issues on the global agenda concerning nuclear safety, were discussed.
The President noted that Kazakhstan highly values its long-standing partnership with the IAEA, and that under the leadership of Rafael Grossi, the Organization has contributed to strengthening nuclear safety and the peaceful use of atomic energy.
– Your first visit to Kazakhstan in April 2023 gave a new impetus to the development of mutual ties. I believe our positions on nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction are similar. However, a very complex situation is developing in the world. This requires uniting efforts in finding ways to solve this global problem, – said the Head of State.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev welcomed the signing of the roadmap for deepening cooperation with the IAEA until 2036 and a number of documents in the field of developing nuclear medicine and science.
