Head of State congratulates compatriots on National Book Day

– I congratulate everyone on National Book Day! Currently, large-scale changes are taking place in the publishing industry. Despite this, the book as a source of spiritual and human values will never lose its significance. It is now noticeable that society is gradually returning to a culture of reading, including reading classic works of fiction or publications devoted to current issues of our time. This positive trend is also spreading widely among young people. In times of total digitalization and the increasing dominance of Artificial Intelligence, reading culture as the sole criterion of a nation's quality must remain an invariable characteristic inherent in the nature of our people, – wrote Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on his Instagram social network page. 

The Head of State will sign a special Decree within the next two weeks on measures to widely promote reading culture and form a reading, intellectual nation.
