The Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan has changed the rules for paying monetary allowances to servicemen, clarified the procedure for calculations and bonuses, and increased the amount of financial aid by linking it to the minimum wage, reports Todayinfo news agency.
The department revised the procedure for calculating monetary allowances. New concepts have been introduced into the rules — "day of acceptance of affairs and position" and "day of handover of affairs and position." Commanders record these dates in orders and use them when calculating payments.
The bonus procedure has also been changed. Servicemen receive bonuses for performing tasks of special importance, achieving high results, and exemplary performance of duties. Incentives are timed to coincide with state and professional holidays, as well as anniversary dates. Anniversaries are considered to be 40 years and every subsequent five years.
Upon dismissal for negative reasons, the health benefit is now calculated in proportion to the actual number of calendar days in the month.
A separate block concerns social support. Financial aid has been increased and tied to the minimum wage, which in 2026 is 85,000 tenge.
"In the event of the death of close relatives, spouse or in-laws, a serviceman will receive up to five minimum wages — that is 425,000 tenge. Upon marriage, birth or adoption of a child, as well as for treatment or property damage — up to three minimum wages, that is 255,000 tenge," the Ministry of Defense reported.
Earlier it was reported that contract servicemen were required to transfer income-generating property to trust management. Corresponding changes were made to the charter of the internal service of the Armed Forces by presidential decree.
