Kostanay region joined a republican environmental action in a teleconference format with the participation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, reports Todayinfo news agency.
This initiative is being implemented within the framework of the nationwide program 'Taza Kazakhstan' and is considered one of the key tools for shaping the country's modern environmental agenda. During the live broadcast, the head of state noted the strategic importance of the project, highlighting its dual focus – practical improvement of territories and formation of environmental culture in society. According to the president, greening populated areas is a long-term investment in the nation's health and sustainable future.
The central venue of the action was the Triathlon Park in Kostanay – one of the attractive points of the urban environment, where the environmental initiative received the widest public coverage. Representatives of authorities, businesses, volunteer movements, and city residents participated in tree planting. The work was led by the region's akim, Kumar Aksakalov. Among the participants were representatives of the industrial sector, including enterprises of the automotive and light industries, as well as agricultural producers.
'On the president's instructions, we are not just holding actions in the region, but building systematic work. 'Taza Kazakhstan' for us is aimed at concrete results: clean streets, new trees, well-maintained yards. We want Kostanay residents to see these changes every day and become part of them themselves,' noted the head of the region.
Residents of the region support environmental initiatives and note real changes. 'The city has really become cleaner and more comfortable. It is evident that work is being done not occasionally, but on an ongoing basis: new trees appear, yards are being improved. And we want to take care of what is being done,' said Kostanay resident Dana Tokzhanova.
The symbolic and practical result of the action is the planting of about 12,000 trees in one day. At the same time, as noted at the regional level, the main priority remains not only the volume of planting, but also subsequent systematic care of green spaces. In a broader context, the region's environmental transformation shows concrete results. In 2024-2025, 40.3 billion tenge was allocated for the implementation of sectoral projects. During this period, over 400 public spaces were improved, more than 250 children's and sports grounds were built, about 600 unauthorized dumps were eliminated, and over 1,250 emergency facilities were demolished. In addition, about 277,000 trees were planted, 1.3 thousand hectares of territory were cleaned, and nearly 50,000 tons of waste were removed. Special attention was paid to the development of public spaces.
