The United States has spent approximately $25 billion on the military operation against Iran. This was stated by Pentagon Chief Financial Officer Jules Hurst during hearings before the House Armed Services Committee, reports Todayinfo.
A significant portion of the costs for Operation "Epic Fury" went to ammunition, as well as the operation, maintenance, and replacement of military equipment. Earlier, two weeks after the conflict began, the Pentagon estimated costs at about $11 billion. Thus, the costs of the operation continue to grow rapidly.
The hearings are taking place amid discussions in the US presidential administration about additional funding. According to US media, the authorities may request up to $200 billion to cover expenses and replenish military stocks.
At the same time, the independent analytical resource Iran War Cost Tracker, which conducts its own estimates of US costs, provides significantly higher figures. According to its data, total costs for military actions against Iran have already exceeded $66 billion. This amount includes not only ammunition but also the maintenance of military personnel, the deployment of ships and equipment to the region, logistics, and other related expenses.
