The results of the large-scale educational project 'Reading Nation' were summed up in the Karaganda region. In a short time, this initiative went beyond a simple competition and turned into a broad reading movement in the region. The project, aimed at developing reading culture, increasing the intellectual potential of the population, and promoting spiritual values, received great public support. More than 67,000 people from the region took part in the project, demonstrating a special interest in books. Among them are schoolchildren, teachers, civil servants, labor collectives, university and college students, as well as entire families. The project was launched on the initiative of the Head of State in a pilot format in the Karaganda region. The highest coverage rate was recorded precisely in the Karaganda region. The competition was held in two directions — Kazakh and Russian leagues, as well as within six nominations. Participants read 15 works recommended by experts and kept an electronic reader's diary. In it, they analyzed each book, sharing their impressions and thoughts. The selection stage took place in a testing format, and the best received a ticket to the regional intellectual competition. One of the largest categories was the 'Reading Dynasty' nomination. Thousands of families competed in this category, and among them, the Shalkarov family won a prize. According to participants, this project strengthened family reading traditions and helped increase children's interest in books. The award ceremony for the winners took place on April 23 — National Book Day. Winners in all categories received substantial cash prizes: first place — 1 million tenge, second place — 600 thousand tenge, third place — 400 thousand tenge. Within the framework of the project, not just education but a new reading culture began to form. Participants developed skills in critical thinking, analysis, and expression of opinion, and the role of the book in society was redefined. Akim of the region Yermaganbet Bulekpaev especially noted the importance of this initiative. According to him, the project proved the high interest of the population in books and showed that a society consciously choosing the path of development is being formed.
— If so, this good initiative must certainly be continued! Let the project, which united the entire public of the region with a common goal, become a powerful movement that gives impetus to the people's consciousness! — said the akim of the region.
In addition, concrete steps are being taken in the region to create favorable conditions for reading. New public libraries are opening in Karaganda, and plans are being made to create modern book spaces in the future. Today, the 'Reading Nation' project is not just a competition, but an important movement that forms intellectual competition in society, promoting knowledge and spirituality. The good initiative will continue in the Karaganda region.
