Former chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan Kamchybek Tashiev was dismissed for attempting a coup d'état. This was stated by Jogorku Kenesh deputy Elvira Surabaldieva, reports Vesti.kg.
According to Surabaldieva, President Sadyr Japarov "showed magnanimity" and did not apply stricter measures against his friend.
In the deputy's opinion, the attempt by an old friend to remove Japarov from power was a moral blow to him, but this circumstance is considered the main reason for Tashiev's departure.
It was reported that preparations for the coup were carried out over a long period. Currently, investigative actions are underway, and a number of individuals involved in the incident have been detained or are under investigation.
Previously, Sadyr Japarov and Kamchybek Tashiev were known as long-time partners and close friends.
