At the farewell ceremony for Hero of Labor of Kazakhstan, prominent poet Mukhtar Shakhanov, poet Ulykbek Yesdaulet shared heartfelt memories, highlighting the deceased's character and his contributions to the country, reports Todayinfo.kz.
According to him, the passing of Mukhtar Shakhanov is an irreparable loss not only for the Kazakh people but for the entire Turkic world.
“The passing of our elder brother Mukhtar feels like a mountain collapsing. Today, the entire Turkic world mourns the poet. Among all the awards he received, he valued most the honors from the Turkic world. Mukhan is mourned not only by Kazakhs and Kyrgyz but by all Turkic peoples,” said Ulykbek Yesdaulet.
The poet particularly noted Mukhtar Shakhanov's civic stance and active public work. According to him, he was a person who fearlessly fought for national interests at any time.
“A mountain collapse is not just a falling rock; it is an irreparable tragedy. Mukhan was always at the forefront of all major issues concerning the country's fate. He spoke out against the Customs Union, openly told the truth about the December events. He worked to revive the Nauryz holiday, raised the Aral issue, and fought to the end,” he said.
At the end of his speech, Ulykbek Yesdaulet figuratively described Mukhtar Shakhanov's life path, using a comparison that particularly moved the audience.
“Mukhan came to Almaty on a white horse and is leaving for Otrar on a white horse,” said the poet.

Those gathered received these words with great emotion and paid tribute to the poet's spirit. It was noted that the name and works of Mukhtar Shakhanov will forever remain in the people's memory.

At the end of the mourning ceremony, those gathered, bidding farewell to the poet, read his poems and vied to recall his merits and good deeds. People with tears in their eyes said they drew spiritual strength from every word and line of his, and expressed heartfelt wishes.
