In the city of Shemonaikha, East Kazakhstan region, the construction of a new hospital has sparked public controversy. Despite the discovery of human bones at the construction site, work continues, increasing residents' discontent.

According to eyewitnesses, human skulls, jawbones, and other bone remains are scattered across the excavation area. Additionally, the removal of soil mixed with bones to open areas has heightened public concern. Residents fear that such remains could be washed into the river by rainwater.

Local resident Elena Medvedeva has officially appealed to the authorities, demanding an immediate halt to construction. In her opinion, this violates not only sanitary requirements but also moral norms. She also noted that the relevant authorities should provide a legal assessment of the incident.

Various speculations about the history of this area are circulating among residents. Some say there used to be a cemetery here, while others believe that soldiers who died during the war may have been buried there.

The city akimat has issued a statement on the matter, urging residents not to worry. According to official information, there were previously burials on this site, and later an infectious disease hospital was built there.

Akimat representatives stated that the found bone remains have no historical value and promised to carry out reburial work. It was also noted that construction is being carried out in accordance with the requirements of current legislation.
