Escalation in the Middle East: Is the US Ready to Resume Military Action Against Iran?

Despite ongoing negotiations between the US and Iran, the threat of renewed military conflict in the Middle East is increasing. In this context, the head of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), Cooper, visited the region, reports Todayinfo.

On May 2, US President Donald Trump stated that he might order the resumption of military operations if Iran "does not take the right steps."

On April 30, Cooper presented Trump with plans for new military strikes against Iran. On the same day, he departed for the Arabian Sea and on May 2, met with service members aboard the USS Tripoli destroyer.

A special unit of marine infantry is stationed on this vessel.
