The United Arab Emirates (UAE) carried out military strikes against Iran in response to attacks from the Islamic Republic, reports Todayinfo. This was reported by the online publication The Wall Street Journal, citing informed sources.
It is indicated that in this situation, the country, whose territory has been repeatedly attacked by the Islamic Republic, appears as an active participant in the war.
Officially, Abu Dhabi has not yet acknowledged the attacks on Iran. Meanwhile, according to WSJ, one of the UAE Armed Forces' strikes was carried out in early April on an oil refinery on the Iranian island of Lavan, located in the Persian Gulf.
Around the same time, US President Donald Trump announced a truce in the war between the US and Israel against Iran – about five weeks after its commencement.
Iran then stated that the oil refinery on Lavan Island had been subjected to an enemy strike, after which it launched a series of missile and drone attacks on the UAE and Kuwait, the publication's authors recall.
According to one interlocutor who spoke to journalists, the US did not express dissatisfaction with the participation of Gulf countries in the conflict.
