Employees of the National Accreditation Center (NCA) have explained the changes in the system aimed at increasing transparency and reducing corruption risks, reports Todayinfo news agency.

Earlier, Orda.kz published complaints from former employees about the center's personnel policy. Now the current staff has presented their version, stating that the changes are part of the accreditation system reform that began in 2025.

According to NCA representatives, the system had long-standing problems: opaque procedures, a limited pool of expert assessors, outdated inspection approaches, and corruption risks. To address these, systematic changes started in 2025.

The first step was an open dialogue with the market. Two major industry forums were held in Almaty and Astana, with over 500 participants. Attendees discussed the need for a 'reset' of accreditation and identified key problems.

Photo and video recording during accreditation has been introduced. Inspectors must now document equipment, premises, and the assessment process. This minimizes corruption risks and eliminates informal agreements between assessors and accredited entities.

The approach to selecting experts has been revised. Instead of constantly involving the same specialists, a random selection and registry update mechanism has been implemented. For the first time, the '20 New Assessors' project has been launched, with work underway on 35 candidates.

Twenty memorandums have been signed with international educational and scientific institutions, universities, and industry associations. Internal documents have been adjusted, checklists for assessment introduced, and digitalization has begun.
