Tuesday, April 28, is set to be one of the calmest days in terms of geomagnetic activity. According to the Solar Astronomy Laboratory, no severe magnetic storms are forecast — the geomagnetic situation will remain stable, reports Todayinfo.
Key parameters of the day: K-index 2–3 points (green zone), probability of a magnetic storm about 12%, probability of disturbed magnetosphere 45%, probability of calm conditions 43%. This means the magnetosphere will stay within normal limits. Even if minor disturbances occur, they will not significantly affect most people's well-being.
April 28 is a "calm window" between two periods of geomagnetic activity. The previous weekend (April 26) was marked by an excited magnetosphere, while April 29 and 30 will bring new G1-level (weak) magnetic storms with a K-index around 5 points. Thus, April 28 is an ideal day to relax and not worry about space weather.
Weather-dependent people may feel quite comfortable. However, doctors advise following usual healthy lifestyle rules: sleep at least 7–8 hours, drink enough clean water, prefer light food (vegetables, fruits, fish, lean meat), avoid stress and overwork. These recommendations are general — April 28 does not require any special precautions.
Forecast for magnetic storms at the end of April and beginning of May: April 29 and 30 expect about 3 points (green level, above normal), May 1 the magnetosphere will become disturbed — 4 points (orange level), and from May 2 to 6 everything will calm down (around 3 points).
During magnetic storms, doctors advise not to panic, strictly take prescribed medications, avoid heavy workouts, and spend more time outdoors. These simple rules help to endure geomagnetic fluctuations more easily.
