17-year-old Kazakhstani tennis player Zangar Nurlanuly successfully passed the first round of the French Open Junior Championships, reports Todayinfo.
In the opening match, our compatriot showcased his skill against British player Mark Cheban (36th in the ITF junior rankings). Zangar maintained full control of the match, securing a confident victory in two sets with a score of 6:3, 6:4. The intense competition on the court lasted 1 hour and 37 minutes.
Thanks to this success, Nurlanuly earned a spot in the 1/16 final of the Grand Slam tournament in Paris. In the next stage of the junior competition, the tennis player from Turkistan will face the winner of the match between Motoharu Abe (Japan) and Agassi Rasher (USA).
