Today, as part of the environmental program 'Taza Kazakhstan', the republican tree-planting action 'Green Foliage' took place. The event, held via teleconference with the participation of Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, covered all regions of the country. On this day, in Zhetysu region, 15,000 people took part in the action, planting over 8,000 trees, reports the press service of the akim of Zhetysu region.
On this day, the tree-planting event on the central basin square in Taldykorgan was attended by the region's akim Beibit Isabayev, representatives of youth organizations, and eco-activists. 150 seedlings were planted in front of the sports facility.
The head of the region talked with the youth who came to the action and exchanged views with them.
- Today's youth have many opportunities for self-development. Now is the time of the educated. Gadgets should be used in a useful and efficient way. Pay more attention to learning languages, mastering IT technologies, in the future you will see the benefits, - said B. Isabayev.
According to the regional Department of Energy and Housing and Communal Services, the action in the region involved employees of institutions and organizations, utilities, enterprises, residents of settlements, eco-activists, volunteers and youth - a total of 15,000 people, 125 units of equipment were involved, more than 8,000 trees were planted.
Participants of the action in Taldykorgan shared their opinions.
- I am a 1st-year student at Taldykorgan Industrial College. Before that, we participated in a similar cleaning and tree-planting event in the city of Tekeli. I like to participate in community work. At such events, young people communicate, get to know each other, find good company. And together we take care of nature. This helps us to be united and form an ecological culture, - said Darkhan Zhumayev.
Among the participants of tree planting there are also schoolchildren who are active in youth organizations.
- I have been a member of the youth organization Unisef for two years. I study in the 10th grade at Nazarbayev Intellectual School. We are engaged in informing about the protection of children's rights. Together with the organization 'Jetisu Jastary', we are active in such environmental actions. We have special courses on eco-volunteering, where we train our members. That is, each eco-volunteer shares their knowledge with others, tells and teaches, - says Nurai Kozhekenova.
It is worth noting that on this day in Astana, volunteer of the public association 'KazEcoPatrol' David Virshki received a Letter of Thanks from the President.
