In the East Kazakhstan region, the operation of a large laboratory producing synthetic drugs has been stopped. This is part of a systematic fight against drug crime, reports Todayinfo citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs, within the framework of the 'Law and Order' principle, is taking measures to eliminate drug production. 'In the East Kazakhstan region, the activity of a laboratory producing synthetic drugs has been eliminated. As a result of operational-search measures, the actions of two citizens aged 26 and 22 were stopped,' the MIA statement said.

It was found that drug dealers bought a private house on the outskirts of a remote village and set up the production of 'synthetics' there. 'During the search, makeshift laboratory equipment, 70 kg of finished synthetic product – Alpha-PVP, as well as about 4 tons of chemical reagents and precursors used to make drugs were seized,' department representatives noted.

During the investigation, it was established that coordination of criminal activity was carried out remotely through the darknet. 'The entry into illegal circulation of about 250 thousand single doses was prevented. This means saving the lives and health of hundreds of people,' law enforcement agencies emphasized.

A pre-trial investigation has been initiated under Article 297-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The organizers of drug production face up to life imprisonment. The MIA warns that the fight against drug crime is a priority, and 'any attempt to organize drug production will be strictly and uncompromisingly suppressed.'
