On April 22, 2026, the inter-district criminal court of Astana considered the case against activist Zhanar Sekerbayeva.
According to the court, on November 22, 2025, a conflict occurred between Sekerbayeva and the victim in one of the city's cafes. During the quarrel, the defendant pushed the woman, causing her physical pain without harm to health.
Sekerbayeva's guilt was confirmed by witness testimony and video recordings. The defendant did not plead guilty; the defense insisted on acquittal.
The court found her guilty under Article 109-1 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan and imposed a fine of 40 MCI.
