Almaty students have conquered the global robotics championship, proving Kazakhstan's leadership in high technology, reports Todayinfo.
Students from ALMATY POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE returned triumphantly from the USA, where they demonstrated on the world's main stage – the FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship 2026 in Houston – that Kazakhstan is not just keeping pace with leaders but is beginning to set its own trends in high-tech.
This year, Houston gathered thousands of participants from all continents, but it was the Almaty teams who became the main heroes of the final. Two college teams – KAP and TGJ – secured first and third places in the prestigious Reach Award category.
This award is given for outstanding contributions to the promotion of STEM technologies and the highest level of engineering skill. The path to triumph began at the regional level: the college teams excelled at the Central Asia FIRST Championship held in Almaty, which served as a crucial training ground for the students.
