Explosion at 'Center Plova' cafe in Akmola region: Two more suspects detained

In the Akmola region, special prosecutors are continuing a pre-trial investigation into violations of fire safety requirements at the 'Center Plova Loft' cafe, reports Todayinfo.kz news agency. As part of the investigation, on April 20, the director of an auto gas filling station and a gas cylinder supplier were additionally detained. They are suspected of violating legal requirements when providing services for filling and delivering gas cylinders. According to the supervisory authority, the suspects' actions are classified under Part 3 of Article 306 of the Criminal Code. This article applies to cases of providing services that do not meet safety requirements for the life and health of consumers, resulting in negligence causing harm to the health of more than two people and death. This article provides for punishment of up to 8 years in prison. By court order, one suspect has been taken into custody, the other placed under house arrest. The prosecutor's office stated that the pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the final decision on the case will be made by the court.
