The Russian Film Festival has started in Astana within the framework of the Days of Russian Culture in Kazakhstan. The festival program runs until April 26 and aims to further strengthen cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries.

At the opening ceremony, Elza Antonova, CEO of ROSKINO, read a congratulatory letter from Olga Lyubimova, Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation.

"The holding of the Russian Film Festival in Kazakhstan opens the way to strengthening our cooperation through art and cinematography. This project revitalizes cultural exchange and deepens mutual understanding and spiritual harmony between peoples," the congratulatory letter says.

Elza Antonova noted that ROSKINO annually holds Russian film festivals in a number of countries around the world, but the festival in Kazakhstan holds a special place. According to her, the program includes films that have already been released in Russia and received high praise from audiences, showcasing the genre diversity of modern Russian cinema.

Aidar Omarov, Acting President of JSC "Kazakhfilm" named after Sh. Aimanov, noted that such projects enrich cultural ties between the two countries and give a fresh impetus to the promotion of national cinema.

At the festival opening, the sports drama "First on Olympus" was screened. Over four days, audiences will be offered seven Russian films of various genres for free. The program also includes the films "Aviator," "Buratino," "Cheburashka 2," "Red Silk," "Three Cats. Time Travel," and "August."

As part of the festival, meetings with delegation representatives and master classes for Kazakhstani students studying creative specialties are planned. Actress Daria Kukarskaya, who starred in the film "Aviator," and actor Anton Savvatimov, who played a role in the film "First on Olympus," will attend meetings with the audience.
