Without language exams: Ministry of Labor refutes rumors about difficulties in obtaining residence permits for foreigners
On the sidelines of a Government meeting, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Askarbek Yertayev elaborated on migration policy.

He spoke about simplified regimes for foreigners wishing to live and work in Kazakhstan.
"If you want to get a job in Kazakhstan and obtain a residence permit, and you have a profession in demand in the country, for example, you are an IT specialist, engineer, nuclear physicist, neurosurgeon, oncologist, etc., then you do not need to take language tests or undergo the 'scoring' procedure. That is, we simplify the process of obtaining a residence permit for those who want to work for the benefit of our country and have the necessary specialization, which includes 51 professions," explained Askarbek Yertayev.
At the same time, the Minister noted that separate requirements are provided only for those who wish to obtain citizenship of Kazakhstan.
"If you want to obtain citizenship of Kazakhstan, then you must undergo the 'scoring' procedure, a test on knowledge of the basics of the Kazakh language, this is normal international practice," Yertayev emphasized.
According to the head of the Ministry of Labor, Kazakhstan's migration policy remains open to professionals and investors ready to contribute to the development of the economy.
"I repeat once again that we, on the contrary, simplify the rules of stay in Kazakhstan for investors, entrepreneurs and valuable specialists. Therefore, you should not trust all sorts of pseudo-experts, those who do not delve into the essence of the issue and mislead people. The state consistently forms a balanced and pragmatic approach that takes into account national interests, labor market needs and long-term demographic tasks. We will strengthen explanatory work in this direction," the minister concluded.
