The specialized environmental prosecutor's office analyzed the activities of the Department of Natural Resources and Regulation of Nature Management of Akmola Region and identified facts of inefficient budget planning. The amount exceeds 1.6 billion tenge, reports the Todayinfo news agency.
By the decision of the Akmola Regional Maslikhat dated September 19, 2025, an environmental protection action plan was approved. The total amount is 4.1 billion tenge, financed from the regional budget. However, during the inspection, the prosecutor's office found that part of the planned funds was allocated to activities that do not meet legal requirements.
For example: 55 million tenge was allocated for the development of design and estimate documentation for the reclamation of 16 subsoil use objects. According to the Code "On Subsoil and Subsoil Use", subsoil users are obliged to eliminate the consequences of their activities at their own expense. The prosecutor's office has court decisions obliging them to fulfill these obligations, but the department unreasonably included reclamation costs in the plan.
In addition, similar violations were identified for four other activities, the amount of which also exceeds 1.6 billion tenge. The prosecutor's office sent a supervisory act to the regional akimat to restore legality and prevent violations.
