German authorities, amid tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, have taken strict control over reserves of oil, gasoline, and aviation fuel, reports Todayinfo news agency.

Germany's annual production of aviation fuel is about 4.5 million tons. Additionally, the country imports 6.1 million tons, of which 1.4 million tons are exported. At the end of February, industrial warehouses held 300,000 tons of kerosene, while strategic reserves monitored by the Oil Storage Union amount to about 1.1 million tons. In total, this constitutes 10.6 million tons of resources, with annual consumption of 9.2 million tons – meaning a formal reserve of about 1.4 million tons.

However, as noted by BILD, serious risks have arisen since May 1 due to the halt of Kazakh oil supplies via the Druzhba pipeline. This could affect the supply of the federal states of Berlin and Brandenburg, as well as the operation of the oil refinery in Schwedt, which produces kerosene for the capital's airport.

A special crisis task force has been established under the National Security Council.
