In Kazakhstan, control over children's summer holidays is being strengthened, reports Todayinfo.

At a meeting of the republican headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balaeva noted that this work is one of the priority areas of state policy. "We must ensure safe, high-quality and health-improving recreation for children," said the Deputy Prime Minister.

According to the Ministry of Education, in 2026 it is planned to cover about 3.2 million schoolchildren with various forms of summer holidays, which is more than 86% of their total number. The campaign will be implemented on the basis of year-round and seasonal centers, as well as more than 10 thousand school and out-of-school sites. Special attention is paid to meaningful employment of children: it is planned that 97% of schoolchildren will be involved in creative, sports, tourist, intellectual and labor programs.

The department has updated the licensing procedure for children's health centers, now it is carried out through the "electronic government" portal for a period of 5 years. The Ministry of Health is strengthening sanitary and epidemiological control. The main condition for the operation of camps is their actual readiness and compliance with safety requirements.

Special attention is paid to medical support for children. For the first time, methodological recommendations on licensing medical activities in camps, as well as instructions on organizing the work of doctors and nurses in health institutions, have been developed. New nutrition standards for children's camps are being prepared.

Aida Balaeva noted that summer holidays should not be a continuation of school lessons. The Deputy Prime Minister also stated the need to strengthen interdepartmental interaction and control over the safety of children, including in private camps. The Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with the Ministry of Education, was instructed to check the staffing of children's health organizations.

Following the meeting, Balaeva ordered to strengthen control over nutrition, drinking water and sanitary condition of camps, check the readiness of school sites and eliminate identified deficiencies. In addition, it was proposed to introduce the environmental project "Green Lessons" into recreation programs.
