Today, the solemn opening of the III «Senat Open» Chess Cup took place in Turkistan, reports Todayinfo. The intellectual competition is organized by the Turkistan Regional Maslikhat, with the support of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kazakhstan Chess Federation.
Deputies of regional, district, and city maslikhats, civil servants, public activists, and representatives of the mass media will compete in the tournament.
I specially attended the solemn event and congratulated the participants on the opening of the tournament.
This tournament makes a significant contribution to the development of sports in our country. This year, the tournament is being held for the third time, and our region actively participates in it. In general, chess is a sport that stands out for its depth and develops human intellect and creative abilities.
Therefore, it is undeniable that this competition will make a great contribution to promoting chess, advocating for generational continuity, attracting youth to sports, and developing the intellectual potential of our country.
It is worth noting that the «Senat Open» tournament consists of three stages. First, qualifying rounds are organized in all regions, and the best participants compete in the interregional semi-finals. The winners then receive tickets to the republican final stage.
