Kazakhstan's banks did not leak personal data of citizens, reports Todayinfo news agency.
First Vice Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry Rostislav Konyashkin stated that banks are not the source of data leaks. He noted that by law, banks are required to request clients' personal data to provide services and prevent fraud, but this is always done with the client's consent and under strict rules.
Konyashkin added that in his memory, data leaks occurred in microfinance organizations, but no such cases were observed in banks. "We are actually not against moving to other platforms now. But why did we start with banks? Precisely because they, along with state systems, are under much stricter regulation than other private platforms and startups," he said.
He emphasized that identification is a mandatory part of banks' work and is not related to data leaks.
