In Kokshetau, the administrative center of Akmola Region, construction of a new multidisciplinary regional hospital is underway. The project aims to replace the existing old inpatient buildings. The medical complex, with a total area of 110,000 square meters, is being built on a 17-hectare site, reports Todayinfo.kz. The new clinic will combine more than 20 medical specialties in one building. This will significantly expand the range of services provided. The project includes 23 operating rooms equipped with modern diagnostic equipment, including three magnetic resonance imaging machines and computed tomography scanners. For the convenience of patients and medical staff, 42 elevators and 4 escalators will be installed in the building. The project places special emphasis on patient comfort.
"The wards will be as comfortable as possible and will be close to hotel standards in terms of finishing. Each ward will have medical gas and oxygen supply systems. In addition, 30 percent of the wards will be single-bed, and the rest will be double-bed. This fully complies with international standards," said contractor Ragyp Hasnbeyoglu.
Alongside the construction of the main building, work is underway to upgrade the city's utility networks. According to Kokshetau Akim Anuar Kumpekeyev, all communication laying work will be completed by the end of this year. This will ensure full infrastructure readiness by the time the hospital is commissioned. Akmola Region Akim Marat Akhmetzhanov noted that the project is fully funded and said that the facility is scheduled to be put into operation on May 1 of next year. He also emphasized the importance of open and transparent dialogue with residents.
"It is important to work openly and transparently. It is necessary to explain to the public in advance what work is being done and its significance for the city. All processes must proceed in parallel: while the building is being constructed, utility networks must be fully connected to it. Our task is to work honestly in the interests of citizens," said Marat Akhmetzhanov.
The new regional hospital will become one of the largest medical centers in the region. This will allow residents to receive complex medical care at a high level without leaving the region. The project is especially important for patients with severe and chronic diseases who previously had to seek treatment in the capital or foreign clinics.
