The Presidents of Kazakhstan and Israel, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Isaac Herzog, continued their negotiations in an expanded format with the participation of delegations from both countries, reports Todayinfo.

The head of state noted that Kazakhstan and Israel have been linked by close multifaceted interaction for a long time. 'Since the very beginning of our Independence, we have maintained friendly relations with the State of Israel, which was one of the first to recognize our sovereignty. In 1993, we opened diplomatic missions, and since then we have maintained an active political dialogue. Significant results have also been achieved in the areas of trade, economic and investment cooperation,' said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The President emphasized that the Abraham Accords create a solid foundation for regional stability and the revitalization of trade and economic ties. 'Kazakhstan is committed to the previously adopted decision; we believe that an official ceremony of joining the Abraham Accords could take place in Astana in the near future. We are also interested in strengthening cooperation in such important areas as artificial intelligence and digitalization. This year has been declared the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence in Kazakhstan. I pay special attention to this issue,' the head of state said.

In turn, Isaac Herzog noted with satisfaction the progressive development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Israel. 'Thank you, Mr. President, for Kazakhstan supporting the unique spirit of interfaith dialogue and tolerance. I would particularly like to highlight the potential to double or even triple trade turnover and business ties between our countries. Practical steps can be taken in this direction. In particular, we are interested in launching direct flights, which will have a positive impact on our business and trade relations. We also intend to continue work on expanding the treaty and legal framework between the two countries. A number of agreements are currently being prepared, including on the elimination of double taxation,' the President of Israel emphasized.

The interlocutors also exchanged views on topical regional and international issues. Following the talks, the parties agreed to maintain regular political dialogue, develop contacts at all levels, and make joint efforts to bring the partnership to a qualitatively new level.
