In Russia's Komi Republic, an attempted drone attack on an oil pipeline was thwarted. A special operation by the FSB prevented sabotage and avoided severe consequences for infrastructure and the population, reports the news agency Todayinfo.

According to the FSB Public Relations Center, in the city of Ukhta, two Russian citizens were planning a sabotage on the orders of Ukrainian special services. They retrieved drones with homemade explosive devices from a pre-prepared hideout and were preparing to blow up an oil industry enterprise.

During the arrest, the suspects offered armed resistance and were eliminated in a shootout. FSB officers and civilians were not injured. At the scene, two unmanned aerial vehicles, a warhead equipped with foreign explosives, two Makarov pistols, and phones containing information confirming criminal activity were seized.

It was documented that the criminals communicated with Ukrainian special services via foreign messengers and transmitted data on oil refineries in the region, as well as on Russian military personnel and law enforcement officers participating in the special military operation.

The FSB Directorate for the Komi Republic has opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (preparation for sabotage).
