In Pavlodar Region, a severe storm on April 26 tore off roofs of 29 facilities in 6 districts, reports Todayinfo news agency.
According to the regional emergency headquarters, wind speeds reached 23–28 m/s. The city of Ekibastuz suffered the most damage, with 16 cases of torn roofs. Damaged facilities include private houses, apartment buildings, educational and healthcare institutions, administrative buildings, and commercial facilities.
The storm caused power outages in 36 settlements. Currently, 1,009 subscribers in 14 settlements remain without electricity. Restoration work is underway.
“In the Aktogay district, the heavy roof of a garage on a private property was partially torn off, injuring the homeowner, a woman born in 1985. She was hospitalized. In Pavlodar, a 34-year-old woman required medical assistance: a tree branch fell on her as she was walking past a house. The patient was taken to the city hospital,” the ambulance station reported.
No fatalities have been reported. All emergency and utility services continue to eliminate the consequences of the storm.
