According to Appfigures research, the growth of artificial intelligence mobile applications is now driven not by text models, but by new image-generating features. Users have shown more interest in creating visual content than in conversation, reports Todayinfo.
This is a significant trend indicating a shift in market dominance. For instance, Google Gemini gained over 22 million new downloads after integrating its image-working model. ChatGPT's GPT-4o model also brought in over 12 million new installations. These figures are several times higher than the results achieved when their traditional text models were updated.
However, a high number of downloads does not always mean increased revenue. Gemini and Meta AI were unable to monetize their new audience. Only ChatGPT managed to generate an additional 70 million dollars in revenue. This indicates that while the new feature sparked interest, few users are willing to pay for it.
