US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that Iran's oil infrastructure could fail and "explode" within three days due to technical malfunctions. He linked this to the impact of the American blockade on Iranian ships, reports Todayinfo news agency.

"Sometimes everything just explodes. They are told they have about three days left. And when that happens, it's impossible to restore everything to its previous state," Trump said on Fox News' The Sunday Briefing program.

He explained that when large volumes of oil pass through the system and the flow stops, an internal rupture occurs. "This can lead to an explosion both due to mechanical reasons and due to pressure in the earth's interior," he added.

Trump's statement came amid another failure of ceasefire negotiations between the US and Iran, which had not even started. After the head of Iranian diplomacy left Pakistan, Trump ordered not to send American representatives.

"If they want to talk, a phone call is enough!!! Travel takes too much time, too much work!" Trump wrote on social media.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said: "We have outlined Iran's realistic position on a final cessation of war. How sincere the US is about diplomacy remains unclear."

In addition, the ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah group is also under threat. The sides exchanged strikes, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the military to deliver strong blows to Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.
