Russian Film Festival Launches in Astana as Part of Russian Culture Days in Kazakhstan
The Russian Film Festival has launched in Astana as part of the Russian Culture Days in Kazakhstan. The film program will run until April 26 and aims to further develop cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries. Opening the event, ROSKINO General Director Elza Antonova read a greeting from Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova.
“The Russian Film Festival in Kazakhstan is an important event that unites our countries through art and cinema. This event will become another significant platform for the development of international cultural exchange and further fruitful cooperation between our peoples,” the greeting said.
Elza Antonova emphasized that ROSKINO annually holds Russian film festivals in different countries around the world, but the festival in Kazakhstan holds a special place. According to her, the program includes films that are currently in active release in Russia, have already received a wide audience response, and represent modern Russian cinema in its genre diversity. Acting President of Sh. Aimanov Kazakhfilm JSC Aidar Omarov noted that such projects consistently strengthen bilateral cultural ties and create additional opportunities for promoting national cinema. The opening film was the sports drama “First on Olympus.” Over four days, viewers will be shown seven Russian films of various genres for free, aimed at the widest audience. The festival program also includes the films “Aviator,” “Buratino,” “Cheburashka 2,” “Red Silk,” “Three Cats. Time Travel,” and “August.” The festival also includes meetings with representatives of the creative delegation and master classes for Kazakh students of creative specialties. Actress Daria Kukarskaya, who starred in the film “Aviator,” and actor Anton Savvatimov, who played a role in the film “First on Olympus,” will present their films to the audience.
