The Almaty branch of the Medical Insurance Fund provided information on the cost and volume of transplant surgeries, reports Todayinfo news agency.
In general, the cost of transplantation ranges from two to 12 million tenge. Doctors perform heart, liver, and kidney transplants. They also carry out transplantation of autologous and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cells.
In 2025, specialists performed six heart transplants, 73 kidney transplants, and 37 liver transplants. The waiting list for surgery is formed based on histological compatibility, medical indications, and urgency.
The transplant waiting list is regulated by the Ministry of Health. To be placed on the waiting list, a conclusion from a multidisciplinary team of specialists or the Republican Center for Transplant Coordination is required.
