A woman who insulted participants of the December events on social media was brought to the Almaty police, a criminal case has been opened, reports Todayinfo news agency.
On the social network Threads, a woman known as violette_vita left a rude comment under a post dedicated to the December events. Her words caused outrage among Kazakhstani citizens, and complaints began to be sent to state bodies.
According to the police department, citizen P. was identified and brought to the station. Currently, her actions are being legally assessed. The department warned that actions aimed at violating interethnic harmony are strictly prohibited.
Prior to this incident, Kazakhstani citizens had already been held accountable for rude comments on social media. For example, Alika Mukhamadiyeva from Karaganda was sentenced to three and a half years in prison for inciting interethnic discord.
