Kazakhstan proposes to postpone the introduction of navigation seals for trucks within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) until 2028. This was announced at a meeting in the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken", reports Todayinfo.

The problem arose due to a shortage of devices called "digital locks". These devices are supposed to ensure control over the movement of goods. Imported seals are allowed to be used only until September 2026, but the system actually started working only in February 2026.

Kazakhstan proposes to extend the transition period until 2028. Otherwise, businesses may face additional costs and supply disruptions. The budget spent 3.2 billion tenge on purchasing the current fleet of seals. According to market participants, hasty replacement of equipment could lead to financial losses and disruption of logistics chains.

In addition, the unpreparedness of local producers is an additional factor. They need time to start mass production of quality products. In this situation, businesses propose to exempt reliable operators with a low level of violations from mandatory sealing. Kazakhstan, in turn, is preparing analytical materials for the Eurasian Economic Commission to justify the need for a postponement and prevent a shortage of equipment on the market.
